GROWING UP

Yazmine Enriquez was born in Tulare, spent part of her early childhood in Oregon and Hanford, and moved to Kerman at age 11. She attended Liberty Intermediate School, Kerman Middle School, and Kerman High School.

She grew up on a dairy just outside town with her parents, two younger brothers, and younger sister.

Family life revolved around work, responsibility, and doing things together. Yazmine and her siblings worked in the family businesses, and she watched her parents take risks, solve problems, and build things of their own.

The lessons were straightforward: work hard, treat people with respect, help others, stay humble, and remember where you came from.

Those lessons followed her into adulthood.

Some of Yazmine's strongest memories aren't major milestones.

  • They're Star 7 hot chocolate before school.

  • Sunshine Donuts.

  • Runs to Valley Food.

  • Evenings at Lions Park.

  • Pacifica Pizza after school.

  • Blue Turtle smoothies.

  • Sunday service at St. Patrick's.

  • The Harvest Festival every September.

  • They're teachers who encouraged her curiosity, school activities, friends, family and familiar faces.

Those memories are why Yazmine believes a community is about much more than buildings and streets. It's the relationships and everyday experiences that make people feel connected to where they live.

The Little Things That Make a Place Home

Lessons From the Dairy

Long before she managed employees or handled payroll, Yazmine learned about work on her father's dairy.

Between ages 11 and 14, she helped feed and care for cattle and round them up for milking. She even had responsibility for a Jersey bull named Bartholomew.

Later, she helped with her father's cheese operation.

One lesson stuck with her: you can't herd cattle effectively if the people doing it aren't communicating.

It's a simple story, but the lesson remained relevant throughout her career: people accomplish more when they're working together.

2013–2017

Sales Associate

Sales, customer service and customer loyalty.

2017–2019

Assistant Store Manager / Interim Store Manager

Hiring, recruiting, training, employee development, sales-floor management, sales planning, visual merchandising, customer retention and store operations.

2020–2021

Assistant Store Manager / Brand Ambassador

Yazmine was selected as one of five associates from the U.S. and Canadian markets to represent the brand through official GUESS social-media channels.

The experience taught her how to operate in a fast-paced environment with defined expectations, goals and procedures while still connecting genuinely with customers and coworkers.

Nine Years With GUESS

In 2021, Yazmine made one of the biggest professional decisions of her life.

She left GUESS and returned home to help her family with Fruta Fresca.

There wasn't a formal roadmap waiting for her.

Suddenly, her days involved payroll, schedules, paperwork, production, staffing, events, new ice cream flavors and whatever unexpected problem happened to come through the door.

Yazmine describes the decision as a leap of faith, but one that brought her home, allowed her to work alongside her parents, and opened the door to much deeper involvement in Kerman.

The Decision That Changed Everything

“Leadership is about being someone people can come to, someone who will listen, and someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and be part of the work.”

Yazmine describes her leadership style as hands-on, approachable and team-oriented.

She doesn't believe a leader should ask someone to do something they would be unwilling to do themselves.

But experience has also taught her that leadership doesn't mean doing everything yourself.

  • It means listening.

  • Delegating.

  • Trusting people.

  • Making difficult decisions when necessary.

  • Taking responsibility when you're wrong.

And understanding that the person with the title isn't automatically the person with the best idea.

She has served in Rotary roles including volunteer, lead volunteer, event organizer, and Rotary International Chair for 2026–2027.
